DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING FATAL HIT-AND-RUN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH

State of DE-The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident. It occurred early on the morning of April 19, 2024, around 2:18 a.m. on Harbeson Road, north of Lewes-Georgetown Highway.

A silver car moving northbound on Harbeson Road hit a pedestrian who, for reasons under investigation, was in the same northbound lane. Shortly afterward, a white SUV moving northbound hit the same pedestrian. Both vehicles then vacated the scene.

The victim was a 28-year-old man from Seaford who, after the incident, was quickly taken to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries. His identity has not been released, as his family has not been notified.

Details about the hit-and-run, such as surveillance footage or images of the implicated vehicles, remain unavailable. The location of the incident, Harbeson Road, was shut down for around four hours to facilitate a thorough investigation and clean-up of the scene.
