DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARREST A MAN INVOLVED IN SHOOTING THAT LEFT ONE DEAD AND TWO INJURED
Millsboro, DE - The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit have arrested 25-year-old Marcus Harris in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning in Millsboro, Delaware.
On June 14, 2025, at approximately 2:00 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 24000 block of Rivers Edge Drive following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they found a 19-year-old man outside the residence suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the troopers rendering medical aid, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two additional men were also found outside the residence with gunshot injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Harris, identified as the shooter, was located inside the residence and taken into custody without any incidents.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the 19-year-old and the two other men had been at the residence with a female occupant who was acquainted with both the 19-year-old and Marcus Harris.
During their time at the residence, the 19-year-old got into an argument with the woman, who no longer wanted him or the other two men in her home. A physical altercation ensued between Harris and the 19-year-old, during which Harris shot him and then fired at the other two men. The woman was not injured during the incident.
Harris was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with the following crimes, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to the Department of Corrections on a $480,000 cash bond:
- Murder in the First Degree (Felony)
- Attempted Murder in the First Degree - 2 counts (Felony)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony - 3 counts (Felony)
