Delaware State Police Arrest Georgetown Man On Felony Drug Charges
Georgetown, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Jayson Willin of Georgetown, Delaware, on felony drug charges. The arrest occurred in Georgetown, Delaware on March 17, 2026.
Members of the Sussex County Governor's Task Force and Probation and Parole responded to the 500 block of Union Drive. They intended to locate Willin, a probationer with an active arrest warrant for a breach of release. Detectives observed Willin at the location. When approached, Willin attempted to flee but was taken into custody.
A search of his person was conducted by detectives. During the search, approximately 6.97 grams of cocaine, 1.45 grams of crack cocaine, and 0.52 grams of methamphetamine were found. Additionally, a buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual strip, a digital scale, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
Willin was subsequently placed in the back of a probation officer's vehicle. He managed to exit the vehicle and attempt to flee from law enforcement for a second time but was apprehended shortly after.
An administrative search of Willin's apartment was then conducted by probation officers. This search yielded approximately 19.96 grams of cocaine, baking soda, a digital scale, and a Pyrex cup and spoon containing white powder residue.
Following his arrest, Willin was transported to Troop 4. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $78,200 secured bond.
Willin faces multiple charges, including tier 3 possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, tier 3 possession of a controlled substance, two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance, and the unlawful operation of a clandestine laboratory.
Furthermore, he was charged with three counts of possessing a controlled substance without a prescription, three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, third-degree attempted escape, and two counts of breach of release.
