DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARREST SEAFORD MAN ON DRUG AND WEAPONS CHARGES

Seaford, DE - On Friday, March 1, 2024, the Delaware State Police arrested Gerald Watkins, a 51-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware, on felony drug and weapons charges. 

Watkins was found impaired at a Del-One Federal Credit Union ATM in Seaford at around 10:21 a.m. Watkins was found asleep while standing and holding various banking items, such as a bank card, US Currency, and a receipt, and was taken into custody.

Watkins showed several signs of impairment and was found to have an ASP baton concealed at his waist. 

Further investigation revealed 48 bags of heroin, two pipes of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a long switchblade in Watkins' car. 

As a convicted felon, Watkins is prohibited from possessing any deadly weapons.


Watkins was taken to Troop 5, where he was charged with the following crimes:


  • Possession of a Deady Weapon by a Person Prohibited (Felony) - 3 counts

  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon (Felony)

  • Possession of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance - 2 counts

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Unlawful Dealing with a Switchblade


Watkins was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on an $11,700 cash bond.
