Delaware State Police Investigate Fatal Hit-and-Run in Milford

Milford, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in Milford. The incident occurred on the evening of March 23, 2026.

At approximately 8:10 p.m., an unidentified vehicle was traveling westbound on Milford-Harrington Highway, east of Church Hill Road. At the same time, a pedestrian was walking westbound along the same section of the highway.

Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle struck the pedestrian and subsequently left the scene. The vehicle's direction of travel is currently unknown.

The pedestrian, identified as a 74-year-old man from Harrington, Delaware, was transported to a local hospital. He later died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

The roadway was closed for an extended period to allow for scene investigation and clearing.
