Delaware State Police Investigate Highway Shooting Incident in Laurel

Laurel, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on US-13 in Laurel during the early morning hours of Sunday, October 5, 2025.
Troopers responded to the incident at approximately 2:00 a.m. following reports of gunfire on US-13 northbound between Delmar, Delaware, and Laurel, Delaware. The preliminary investigation indicates that two vehicles were traveling northbound on the highway when the shooting occurred.
A blue Toyota Camry was traveling in the left lane while a silver Chrysler four-door sedan occupied the right lane. Both vehicles were in motion when a suspect described as a black male fired several rounds from the Chrysler toward the passenger side of the Toyota. The suspect then fled northbound on US-13 near Scarborough Lane.
The Toyota sustained damage from the gunfire. Authorities report no injuries resulted from the incident. Police have not released surveillance videos or images related to the case.
The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues to investigate the shooting.
