Delaware State Police Investigating Fatal Crash in Selbyville, Delaware

Selbyville, DE - The Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles near Selbyville, Delaware, which resulted in the deaths of two people.


The incident occurred on July 8, 2025, at approximately 7:54 a.m. A Chevrolet Camaro was traveling east on Lighthouse Road near New Road when it crossed the double-yellow center line and collided head-on with a Hyundai Santa Fe, which was traveling westbound.


The 22-year-old driver of the Camaro, a resident of Berlin, Maryland, was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of her family.


A 77-year-old male passenger in the Hyundai Santa Fe, from Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 74-year-old driver of the Santa Fe, a resident of Selbyville, Delaware, suffered critical injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The names of both individuals are also being withheld pending notification of their families.


Fenwick Road remained closed for an extended period during the investigation.
