DELMAR FIRE RULED TO BE ACCIDENTAL FROM IMPROPER DISPOSED ASH
Wicomico County, MD - On the evening of May 10th, 2025, a fire broke out in the 9000 block of Stage Road in Delmar, MD. The incident involved a single-story ranch-style home and was quickly addressed by the Delmar Fire Department.
A passerby discovered the fire and promptly alerted the authorities. Thanks to the swift response of five firefighters from the department, the situation was brought under control in just five minutes.
The fire originated from a trash can and was preliminarily determined to be caused by the improper disposal of ashes. The estimated financial loss from the incident was $500 for the structure and $100 for its contents. Fortunately, the rapid intervention minimized the damage and prevented any further escalation.
This incident serves as a reminder to properly dispose of ashes and other potentially flammable materials to prevent accidental fires.
