DOMESTIC ASSAULT SUSPECT ARRESTED AND HELD WITHOUT BOND IN CAMBRIDGE, MARYLAND

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department has reported the arrest of Brian Lamont Strawberry Sr., a 52-year-old resident of Hurlock, Maryland, in connection with an assault incident that occurred on May 30, 2025.
At approximately 9:55 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers responded to a call at a Food Lion location. Upon arrival, they made contact with a female victim who reported being assaulted by Brian Lamont Strawberry.
Officers observed that the victim had visible bruises and lacerations, and she was subsequently transported to the hospital for medical treatment.
According to the victim's account, the altercation began at her residence. Strawberry allegedly became agitated over unanswered phone calls and initiated a physical assault.
She informed the officers that he punched her in the head, causing her to fall, and then kicked her in the back and legs. The victim also reported that Strawberry dragged her to a bathroom and began strangling her.
The victim stated that Strawberry demanded money, and she explained that she needed to go to Food Lion to retrieve the funds. Once they arrived at the store, she took the opportunity to escape and called for help.
Cambridge Police Department officers arrested Strawberry in the 1200 block of Chestnut Place. He was arrested and taken to Cambridge Police Department for processing.
Following his arrest, Strawberry was transferred to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, where he was held without bond.
On June 2, 2025, Strawberry had a bond review in front of the Honorable Judge Melvin Jews. Judge Jews ordered Strawberry to be continued to be held without bond.
Mr. Strawberry faces the following charges:
- Assault in the First Degree
- Assault in the Second Degree
- Reckless Endangerment
