Domestic-Related Homicide Investigation Underway in Milford’s Windward Grove Development
Milford, DE - The Milford Police Department has launched an investigation following a homicide that occurred in the Windward Grove Development on Wickersham Lane, located in Milford, Sussex County, Delaware.
The incident took place on July 10, 2025, at approximately 10:21 p.m., when police responded to a report of a shooting at a residence within the community. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 32-year-old male victim inside the home suffering from a single gunshot wound.
According to witnesses at the scene, CPR had already been initiated prior to the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS). Despite continued lifesaving efforts by EMS personnel, the victim succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased. Authorities are withholding the victim's name pending family notification.
The investigation quickly led to the arrest of 42-year-old Joseph M. Greene of Milford, Delaware, who faces multiple charges in connection to the incident, identified as a domestic-related homicide.
On July 11, 2025, Greene was formally charged with the following offenses:
- Murder in the First Degree (Felony)
- Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
- Two Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
Greene was presented before Justice of the Peace Court 7 and subsequently remanded to the Delaware Department of Correction on a cash bond set at $710,000. A preliminary hearing was scheduled to take place at a later date in the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
