Driver Arrested Following Incident in Cambridge, MD

Cambridge, MD - On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., officers from the Cambridge Police Department observed a BMW disregard a red traffic signal at the intersection of Academy Street and Cedar Street in Cambridge, Maryland. The vehicle subsequently turned onto Academy Street, where it accelerated at a high speed and nearly struck another vehicle.
Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, which had come to a stop on the sidewalk near Pleasant Street and Academy Street after colliding with a building located in the 600 block of Academy Street. The occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses in the vicinity reported seeing the driver running toward Race Street and provided a description of the individual. Through investigation, officers identified the owner of the vehicle, who confirmed they were inside the vehicle at the time of the incident and provided information about the driver.
The driver was identified as Randolph Edward Blake, a 42-year-old resident of Cambridge, Maryland.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m., Cambridge Police Department officers located and arrested Blake in the 400 block of Cedar Street. He was taken into custody and transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing. Blake was later released on his own recognizance.
