DSP Investigating Shooting That Left Woman Injured in Lewes

Lewes, DE - The Delaware State Police are conducting an investigation into a shooting that occurred on August 8, 2025, in the 17000 block of Evette Lane, Lewes, Delaware, resulting in serious injuries to a 40-year-old woman.


According to preliminary reports, at approximately 12:03 a.m., Delaware State Police Troopers responded to reports of a shooting. Investigators determined that an unidentified suspect fired an undetermined number of shots at an occupied residence.


A woman, who was inside the home, sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where she is reportedly being treated for serious injuries. A man and a child who were also inside the home at the time were not injured during the incident.


The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is actively investigating the case. Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who possesses information about the suspect to come forward.
