East New Market Vehicle Fire Under Investigation

DORCHESTER COUNTY, MD - On December 22, 2025, the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire in Dorchester County. The incident occurred at approximately 2:33 PM in the 4400 block of Centennial Road.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a Jeep Wrangler on fire. The vehicle was parked in close proximity to a residence. Heat from the burning vehicle caused damage to the exterior of the home.

Twenty firefighters responded to the one-alarm fire. The crew brought the situation under control within approximately 10 minutes. No injuries were reported, and no residents were displaced by the incident.

The total loss estimated by the State Fire Marshall's Office is valued at $25,000. This figure includes $5,000 in structural damage and $20,000 in content loss.

The preliminary cause of the fire currently remains under investigation.
