National News - In a recent statement, former presidential candidate and Vice President Kamala D. Harris addressed the unrest unfolding in Los Angeles, California. Her remarks come amidst heated discussions surrounding the deployment of the National Guard in Los Angeles, California.

Harris expressed her opposition to the use of the National Guard, opposing President Donald Trump's approach to restoring peace. She criticized the deployment, suggesting it was designed to incite further chaos rather than subdue it.

In her words, it was "not about public safety-they're about stroking fear," highlighting her stance on the matter.

Regardless of what Harris states, the destruction in Los Angeles is evident in various videos circulating online. Rioters have been seen setting vehicles and buildings on fire, contributing to widespread devastation in the city. While Harris underscored the importance of protest as a "powerful tool" in the pursuit of justice, she has not called for rioters to stop the destruction and instead has chosen to take a political stance against President Trump.

Opinions on President Trump's actions are divided, but the impacts of the riots are clear. Eastern Shore Undercover will not refer to the individuals involved as protesters; they are rioters and criminals, nothing more, nothing less. The loss of personal and public property is a significant concern, as many individuals have invested their lifetime savings in these now-damaged properties. Such destruction raises questions about accountability and the responsibilities of political leaders in addressing the situation.

Moreover, the rioters' aggressive actions towards law enforcement-including assaults and throwing projectiles at the Officers involved and the National Guard-are alarming. These actions undermine efforts to maintain order and safety, putting public servants at risk as they strive to restore peace to the community.

The ongoing developments in Los Angeles continue to draw national attention, prompting discussions on the balance between maintaining order and respecting citizens' rights to protest.

As the situation evolves, the dialogue surrounding these events remains critical. We are not a third-world country, but watching videos on various social media platforms might lead one to think otherwise. I've seen people burning the American flag while holding foreign flags and fighting for the right to be in a country they are damaging.

As a society, we should be better than this. Only time will tell what the outcome will be, but this type of behavior is totally unacceptable, on every level. This is anything but "peaceful protesting"; it is more in line with egregious rioting.
