EASTON MAN ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE CHARGES INCLUDING ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER AND RESISTING ARREST

Talbot County, MD - On April 29, 2025, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office arrested 37-year-old James Brian Adam Shatley, a resident of Easton, MD. Deputies responded to reports of a vehicle in a ditch on the 9000 block of Chapel Road in Easton, Maryland, where deputies found Shatley sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle and suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol.
After conducting their investigation and informing Shatley that he was under arrest, he became combative, assaulting the deputies and causing damage to a police vehicle. A search conducted during the arrest revealed a controlled substance.
Shatley was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), driving without a license, assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, malicious destruction of property, disturbing the public peace, and possession of a controlled substance.
He was transported to the Talbot County Central Booking facility for processing and an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner. Shatley was subsequently released on his own recognizance.
