Easton Man Arrested for 1st Degree Assault After Brandishing a Knife During Altercation

Easton, MD - An Easton man was arrested on November 6, 2025, for First-Degree Assault and an outstanding bench warrant following a disturbance call.

Officers from the Easton Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance involving a knife in the 1000 block of N. Washington Street in Easton, Maryland.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Robert Massey, 64, of Easton, MD.

During the investigation, officers discovered that Massey had an active bench warrant for failure to appear. He was subsequently placed under arrest for the warrant.

Further investigation revealed that during an altercation, Massey allegedly brandished a knife at another individual, causing them to fear for their life. A knife was located and recovered at the residence. Massey was additionally charged with First-Degree Assault and Second Degree Assault.

On November 7, 2025, Massey was seen by the District Court Commissioner, who ordered him to be held without bond on the 1st and 2nd Degree Assault charges. Later on that same day, Massey has a bail bond review with the Honorable Judge Floyd L. Parks and he was released on a $5,000 unsecured personal bond.

For the bench warrant incident, Massey was released on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond.
