Easton Man Arrested for DUI After Traffic Stop

Easton, MD - An Easton resident was arrested for driving under the influence following a traffic stop on October 4, 2025.
Russell J. Thompson, 66, of Easton, MD, was pulled over by police at approximately 11:53 pm in the area of S. Washington Street and S. Easton Parkway. Officers observed Thompson's vehicle traveling at 70 miles per hour in a posted 50 mile per hour zone.
During the traffic stop, officers detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Thompson's breath and person. He was asked to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, but did not complete them satisfactorily.
Thompson was subsequently placed under arrest for driving under the influence. He was issued citations for the driving infractions and released upon signature.
The Easton Police Department conducted the arrest and investigation.
