Easton Man Arrested for DUI Following Traffic Stop

Talbot County, MD - On February 28, 2026, a traffic stop was conducted by officers of the Easton Police Department. The incident took place in the area of westbound Ocean Gateway and Dutchman's Lane in Easton, Maryland.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 59-year-old Darwin J. Kleckner of Easton, Maryland.

While speaking with the driver, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on Kleckner's breath by the responding officer.

Kleckner agreed to submit to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Based on the observations made by the officers during the administration of these tests, Kleckner was taken into custody.

He was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
