Easton Man Arrested for DUI Following Traffic Stop

Easton, MD - An Easton resident was arrested on multiple charges following a traffic stop that revealed suspected alcohol impairment early Sunday morning. Enecon Sanchez Lopez, 61, of Easton, MD, was stopped by an Easton Police Department Officer at approximately 1:44 am on October 25, 2025.

The traffic stop occurred on S. Washington Street after officers observed a traffic violation involving a white Toyota Tundra. During the initial contact with Sanchez Lopez, the investigating officer detected the odor of alcoholic beverages.

The officer then administered Field Sobriety Tests to determine the driver's level of impairment. Based on the results of the field sobriety testing, officers determined that Sanchez Lopez was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The investigation led to his arrest on multiple charges. Sanchez Lopez faces charges including Driving a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving a Vehicle While Impaired by Alcohol, Negligent Driving, and Driving Vehicle on Highway at Speed Exceeding Limit.

Following the completion of the investigation, he was released on citations. The Easton Police Department continues to enforce traffic safety laws and reminds the public of the dangers associated with impaired driving.
