EASTON MAN CHARGED WITH DUI OFFENSES AND VARIOUS TRAFFIC OFFENSES

Easton, MD - During the evening hours of January 26, 2024, Officers from the Easton Police Department were on patrol in the area of Aurora Street and Idlewild Avenue and observed a vehicle operating without its headlights on. 

The Officer attempted to stop the vehicle at Aurora St. and Dutchman's Ln, however, the vehicle failed to yield and continued the wrong way on 2 one way street on South Aurora St. at Linden Ave. 

The vehicle continued South on Washington St, at a slow speed before stopping on South Washington St. and Oak Ave. 

Upon approaching the vehicle and making contact with the driver, who would be identified as Hurel Ariel Cordova-Ramirez (34-year-old male from Easton, MD). 

Officers noticed signs of impairment from consuming alcoholic beverages. 

Cordova-Ramirez refused to complete Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest for DUI. 

Cordova-Ramirez would provide a breath alcohol concentration test, which provided 3 results above the legal limit of 0.08. 

Cordova-Ramirez was issued citations for the following offenses:


  • UNSAFE LANE CHANGE

  • RECKLESS DRIVING

  • NEGLIGENT DRIVING

  • DRIVING VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL PER SE

  • DRIVING VEHICLE WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

  • DRIVING VEH. WHILE IMPAIRED BY ALCOHOL

  • DRIVING VEH, WHILE IMPAIRED BY DRUGS OR ALCOHOL OR ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

  • FAILURE TO DISPLAY TWO LIGHTED FRONT LAMPS WHEN REQUIRED


Cordova-Ramirez was released with traffic citations for the previously stated charges.
