Easton Police Arrest Man Following Reported Assault on August Street

Easton, MD - On March 13, 2026, officers with the Easton Police Department responded to the 300 block of August Street in Easton, Maryland, for a reported assault that had just occurred.

According to police, the victim said they had been assaulted by a woman.

During the investigation, officers learned that the victim and a second woman had been involved in a verbal dispute that became physical. Police said that during the altercation, Mr. Wayne Wesley, 68, grabbed the victim by the neck and squeezed while holding the victim down, according to the victim.

Officers observed visible injuries to the victim's neck, which police said supported the allegation.

Wesley was arrested and transported to the Talbot County Detention Center. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault.
