EASTON POLICE DEPARTMENT IS INVESTIGATING A MONDAY AFTERNOON BANK ROBBERY

Easton, MD - On June 2, 2025, at approximately 2:35 p.m., the Easton Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the BayVanguard Bank on Idlewild Avenue in Easton, Maryland.


The suspect approached a teller of the bank, handed over a note, and demanded money while brandishing a firearm. He fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, heading towards Idlewild Park. No employees were harmed during the incident.


Officers were informed by bank employees that the suspect was an African American male, likely in his 30s, standing between 5'06" and 6'00" tall, with a thin build and a goatee. He was wearing a white long-sleeve shirt, white pants, black shoes, a black sling bag, a lime green baseball cap, and sunglasses.


The Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit was called in to process the scene. Additionally, a deputy from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office, accompanied by his K-9 partner, conducted a search/track for the suspect along his possible escape route. A Special Agent from the FBI also joined the investigation.


Investigators are now reaching out to the Easton community for assistance. They are asking residents to check their surveillance footage for any sightings of the suspect.
