Easton Police Respond to Shoplifting Report at Giant Foods

Easton, MD - On February 27, 2026, at 10:59 a.m., officers with the Easton Police Department were dispatched to Giant Foods at 8223 Elliot Road in Easton for a reported shoplifting incident.

When officers arrived, they made contact with the suspect, identified as Robert C. Shafer, 82, of Easton, Maryland. He was being held by Giant loss prevention staff at the time.

Shafer was issued a criminal citation for theft under $1,500. He was then released at the scene.
