Easton, MD - A Sergeant with the Easton Police Department, Jason Dyott, is facing serious charges of Misconduct in Office. Dyott, who served with the Easton Police Department since 2008 and held the rank of Sergeant since July 2020, is now under scrutiny for accusations of Misconduct in Office involving inappropriate and unethical relations with minors.

Dyott is accused of misusing his departmental cellular telephone and the Snapchat application to miscommunicate with several teenagers from local high schools in Talbot County, Maryland. Dyott used these platforms to solicit and exchange sexually explicit content with the minors.

One of the victims, a student at Talbot County High School, started receiving messages from Dyott in November 2022. Prosecutors claim that Dyott used his position as a police officer to advance a sexual relationship with the minor, sending her suggestive photographs of himself in his police uniform.

It is alleged that the officer's misconduct escalated into physical encounters, including making out with a teenage, high-school-aged victim in his Easton Police Departmental vehicle while on duty.

A second teenage victim, also a student from Talbot County High School, allegedly received similar messages from Dyott. On November 11, 2022, while on duty, Dyott purportedly picked her up from her friend's residence in his patrol vehicle and proceeded to engage in sexual intercourse with her inside the vehicle.

These serious allegations have quickly escalated into a full-blown investigation led by the Talbot County Sheriff's Office. Under valid search warrants, they seized and searched Dyott's personal and departmental cellular telephones.

It's important to note that all individuals charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
