Wicomico County, MD - On April 10, 2025, Enemias Bautista Perez, a 38-year-old resident of Greensboro, Maryland, was sentenced to a combined total of fifty years of active incarceration for the sexual abuse of a minor.

This sentence was handed down by the Honorable Judge S. James Sarbanes in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. Perez had previously pleaded guilty to this offense in January of the same year.

The conviction entailed twenty-five years for charges in Wicomico County, which would be served consecutively to another twenty-five-year sentence from Caroline County for abusing the same minor.

The sentence reflects the maximum penalty allowed by law for the crimes committed. Importantly, due to the nature of these violent offenses, Perez will not be eligible for parole until at least half of his sentence is served.

Upon potential release, he would also be subject to Lifetime Sexual Offender Supervision and would have to register as a Tier III Sexual Offender for life.

These charges arise from several years of abuse perpetrated by Perez against a child within his own household, with the majority of incidents occurring in Caroline County and additional incidents in Wicomico County.

Wicomico County State's Attorney Jamie L. Dykes praised the thorough investigation conducted by law enforcement and the Child Advocacy Center. The collaboration between the teams in both counties played a crucial role in uncovering the full extent of Perez's actions.

Attorney Dykes also expressed hope that the significant sentence provides some solace to the victim, acknowledging their bravery throughout the process.

The successful prosecution was supported by Senior Assistant State's Attorney Michael Calabrese, with Detective D. Schultz and Det. Sgt. A. Hafer leading investigations in the respective counties with diligence and dedication.
