Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Greenwood, Delaware

GREENWOOD, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred Friday morning in Greenwood. The single-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a 39-year-old Dover man.


The crash occurred on August 29, 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Beach Highway, west of Webb Farm Road. A gray Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when the operator attempted to pass two vehicles ahead.


The motorcycle entered the eastbound lane to complete the passing maneuver. As the Kawasaki returned to the westbound lane, the rider lost control. The motorcycle began to skid before leaving the roadway and striking a utility pole.


The impact ejected the rider from the motorcycle. The 39-year-old male from Dover was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding his identity pending family notification.


Beach Highway remained closed for approximately five hours while investigators processed the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
