Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Georgetown Under Investigation

Georgetown, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred in Georgetown earlier this month.
The incident took place on August 19, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m. A Honda Pilot was traveling eastbound on Hardscrabble Road, east of Tyndall Road, when the vehicle left the roadway for reasons currently under investigation.
The Honda entered a ditch and traveled along it before striking a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn multiple times. The Honda then struck a second tree.
The driver was identified as 29-year-old Marco Lobos-Simaj of Georgetown, Delaware. He was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries sustained in the crash.
Lobos-Simaj died on August 27, 2025, as a result of his injuries.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the crash. Authorities are seeking witnesses or anyone with relevant information about the incident.
