Federalsburg Man Arrested and Held Without Bond After Violation Court Issued Protective Order
Caroline County, MD - Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office responded to a property damage incident on Sunday, March 22, 2026. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Pebble Street in Federalsburg, Maryland. A suspect was reported to be actively ramming a pickup truck into another vehicle.
Upon arrival, deputies conducted a preliminary investigation. It was determined that 42-year-old David Scully, of Federalsburg, Maryland, was involved in a verbal altercation with his wife.
An active protective order was on file, identifying the wife as the protected party. Following the dispute, Scully backed his Ford F250 truck into his wife's BMW passenger car three times. He then departed the scene in the same truck. Reports indicated he was intoxicated.
Scully was located a short time later at a nearby convenience store. He was found seated in the driver's seat of the Ford truck. Deputies noted visible damage to the rear of the vehicle.
Scully was confirmed to be under the influence of alcohol, and an alcoholic beverage was located inside his truck.
Scully was placed under arrest. He was charged with Violation of a Final Protective Order, Malicious Destruction of Property greater than $1000.00, Intoxicated Endangerment, driving while impaired by alcohol, and driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Scully was transported to the Caroline County District Court Commissioner. It was determined that he would be held without bond. He was subsequently released into the custody of the Caroline County Detention Center.
