Federalsburg Man Arrested on Drug Possession Charges Following Traffic Stop

Easton, MD - Officers with the Easton Police Department arrested a 72-year-old Federalsburg man on drug possession charges following a traffic stop on October 21, 2025. The incident occurred in the area of Days Inn, located at 7018 Ocean Gateway in Easton, Maryland.

Police initiated the traffic stop and made contact with the driver, who was identified as William G. Johnson of Federalsburg, Maryland. During the encounter, officers requested assistance from a narcotics detection canine.

The canine conducted a sniff and provided a positive alert, indicating the presence of narcotics odor in the vehicle. Based on the canine's alert, officers conducted a search of both the vehicle and Johnson.

The search resulted in the discovery of suspected cocaine in Johnson's possession. Johnson was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

The investigation was handled by officers from the Easton Police Department.
