Delmar, MD - In the early hours of April 29, 2025, a fire broke out at Kings Mulch and Pallets, located at 29729 Foskey Lane in Delmar, Wicomico County, Maryland. The fire occurred in a 50' x 120' metal and wood-framed pole building that houses the business.

The estimated damages to the building are around $260,000, while the contents suffered an estimated $120,000 in damages.

The Delmar Fire Department was the primary responding unit, with the assistance from multiple agencies from Maryland and Delaware, deploying 25 firefighters to the scene.

With a single alarm raised, the team efficiently brought the fire under control within 30 minutes of their arrival. The incident was initially discovered by employees who noticed smoke coming from the interior of the structure.

Investigators are currently looking into potential causes, as the exact origin of the fire is still under investigation. There is speculation that sawing operations on wooden pallets, which were being conducted inside the building prior to the fire, may have contributed to the blaze.
