First Degree Assault Arrest at Easton Quality Inn
Easton, MD - On January 24, 2026, the Easton Police Department responded to a reported assault at the Quality Inn on Ocean Gateway in Easton, Maryland. Officers arrived at the location to investigate the incident.
Upon arrival, police met with a complainant who alleged they had been assaulted by 21-year-old Jacob Z. Meza of Easton. The complainant reported that an argument with Meza escalated into a physical altercation.
It was alleged that Meza placed the complainant in a chokehold, choking them to the point of near unconsciousness.
Officers located Meza at the scene, reporting that he appeared intoxicated and was lying in a bathtub. Meza was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Talbot County Detention Center for processing.
