State of Delaware - Delaware State Police apprehended four teenagers on Saturday evening following a high-speed chase through several Sussex County jurisdictions.

The incident began when the juveniles, driving a silver Honda CRV, fled a traffic stop initiated by the Bethany Beach Police Department at 7:21 p.m. on April 13, 2024.

Police soon encountered the same vehicle speeding on Coastal Highway near Fred Hudson Road. The chase was called off over safety concerns due to the car's excessive speed.

It was later revealed the vehicle was reported stolen within the Dover Police Department's jurisdiction.

The suspects drove through Dewey Beach, turning eastbound on Silver Lake Drive towards Rehoboth Beach. With the aid of the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit, officers tracked the vehicle from the air until it eventually crashed near Olive Avenue and the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach.

The teenagers fled the crash scene on foot. The Delaware State Police, Dewey Beach Police Department, and Rehoboth Beach Police Department combined their efforts and caught the suspects near the Henlopen Hotel in Rehoboth Beach.

A firearm was found in the vehicle within easy reach of the suspects. No civilians were harmed during the pursuit. The arrested teenagers were taken to Troop 7 and charged with the following offenses:
