Four-Vehicle Crash in Milford Leaves One Dead, Two Injured

Milford, DE - Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal four-vehicle collision that occurred on the morning of July 11, 2025, on Coastal Highway near Bakerfield Road in Milford, Delaware. The crash resulted in the death of one man and injuries to two others.


At approximately 7:33 a.m., a Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound on Coastal Highway attempted to negotiate a curve but entered the center median. The vehicle rotated counterclockwise, crossing into the southbound lanes and into the path of a Chrysler Town and Country minivan.


The Tahoe's right front struck the minivan's left front, causing a severe impact that separated the Tahoe's engine. Following the initial collision, the front of a Subaru Forester struck the rear of the minivan, while a Chrysler 200 collided with the detached engine.


The driver of the Chrysler Town and Country, a 71-year-old man from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending family notification.


The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe, a 31-year-old man from Frederica, Delaware, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Subaru Forester, a 36-year-old woman from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chrysler 200, a 34-year-old woman from Dover, Delaware, was not injured.


Coastal Highway was closed for approximately four hours while authorities conducted an investigation and cleared the scene. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
