Garage Fire Investigated in Caroline County, Maryland

Caroline County, MD - On March 6, 2026, at 3:52 p.m., a fire occurred at a one-story, wood-framed detached garage located in the 27000 block of Stafford Road in MaryDel, Caroline County, Maryland.

The homeowners were present at the residence at the time of the incident. They discovered the fire originating from the interior of a garage and immediately called 911.

The MaryDel Volunteer Fire Company was the primary responding department. A total of 25 firefighters were dispatched to the single-alarm fire. The incident was brought under control in approximately one hour.

Neither smoke alarms nor fire sprinklers were present in the structure. The incident resulted in an estimated $120,000 in structural loss and $140,000 in loss of contents. The preliminary cause of the fire remains under investigation.
