Glen Burnie Man Arrested for Multiple Vehicle Collisions on Route 50 in Easton, Maryland

Easton, MD - A Glen Burnie man faces serious charges following a series of vehicle collisions on Route 50 that resulted in a hit-and-run incident near Easton, Maryland.


David Dziergowski Jr., 33, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and reckless endangerment after allegedly striking a vehicle multiple times with a tractor-trailer.


Officers with the Easton Police Department responded to the Aldi parking lot, located at 8147 Ocean Gateway in Easton, Maryland at approximately 7:39 AM, following reports of a hit-and-run accident.


The driver of a Hyundai Sonata reported being stopped eastbound on Route 50 at Dover Road when a tractor trailer struck the rear of their vehicle. The driver told officers the tractor trailer appeared to back up before striking their vehicle a second time.


According to the victim, the tractor-trailer hit their vehicle a third time and pushed them into another lane before continuing without stopping.


Prior to the initial call, dispatchers had received multiple reports about the same tractor-trailer driving erratically throughout the area.


Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's Office and officers from the Cambridge Police Department coordinated to stop the tractor-trailer at Route 50 and Woods Road in Cambridge, Maryland.


Dziergowski Jr. was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Talbot County Detention Center, where he was later released.
