SALISBURY, Md. - The annual Governors Challenge high school basketball tournament is scheduled to take place from December 26-30. The event will feature top teams and players in high school basketball.

"Our showcase division is loaded with future NBA players and college stars, as well as the number one team in the country, Prolific Prep," said tournament director, James Simmons. "On the varsity division and Shore Showcase side, we're packing in lots of skilled players and intense local matchups."

Over 130 high school basketball teams from sixteen states and Canada are expected to participate. Games will be held at the Wicomico Civic Center and other surrounding venues.

Due to anticipated demand, tournament organizers have announced changes to ticketing. The event is expected to sell out daily. "We're moving to a two session per day model," said Simmons. "That change, paired with capacity adjustments, means tickets will sell out. Spectators should plan to buy their tickets early - not at the door."

Three ticket options are available for purchase: a Single Session Pass, a Day Pass for all sessions on a single day at the Wicomico Civic Center, and an All-Session Pass for all nine sessions at the Wicomico Civic Center. Seating options include Reserved Courtside, Reserved Baseline, and General Admission Lower Bowl.

The schedule for the tournament is as follows:

  • December 26: Session 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Session 2 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • December 27: Session 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Session 4 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • December 28: Session 5 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • December 29: Session 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Session 7 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • December 30: Session 8 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; Session 9 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The event will have a no re-entry policy. Spectators who leave the building will not be permitted to re-enter, even within the same session.
