HIGH SPEED PURSUIT AND CRASH LANDS MAN IN HOSPITAL AND THEN JAIL

Georgetown, DE - On April 28, 2025, a Georgetown Police Officer noticed a vehicle on East Market Street that was not using its headlights, leading to a traffic stop.
As the officer initiated the stop, the driver, identified as Stephen Dolence, fled the scene at high speed, driving recklessly. This reckless driving resulted in a crash near the intersection of East Market Street and Airport Road.
The collision caused Dolence's vehicle to overturn into a ditch, and he was subsequently transported to the hospital for evaluation.
After being discharged from medical care, Dolence faced several charges, including driving without headlights, reckless driving, operating a vehicle without a valid license, and possession of illegal substances.
Additionally, it was discovered that Dolence had a Capias warrant, leading to his commitment to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a secured bond.
