HOA DISAGREEMENT LEADS TO REHOBOTH BEACH WOMAN BEING ARRESTED WITH MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES

Rehoboth Beach, DE - A shocking incident occurred in Rehoboth Beach when a routine Homeowners Association (HOA) task spiraled into pure chaos.


Jennifer August, a 62-year-old resident of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware), was arrested following a dispute on May 19, 2025, at a residence on Black Duck Reach, which resulted in her arrest on several felony charges.


According to Delaware State Police, the controversy arose while HOA members and contractors were clearing ivy from a fence on an easement. Jennifer August, who lives adjacent to the easement, confronted the group.


The situation quickly escalated when August allegedly threatened a contractor with scissors and began throwing debris, as well as spraying an unknown liquid on others present.


Her actions led to law enforcement taking her into custody and charging her with the following:


  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Assault 2nd Degree with a Disabling Chemical Spray (Felony)
  • Aggravated Menacing (Felony)
  • Offensive Touching
  • Disorderly Conduct


She was taken to Troop 7, where she was arraigned and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
