Homeowner Convenience Centers Reopen After Winter Storm

Worcester County, MD - The Pocomoke Homeowner Convenience Center (HOCC) has reopened following extensive cleanup efforts after a recent winter snowstorm. The facility is now accepting yard waste year round.

The Berlin and Snow Hill HOCCs are also operational. These locations will accept yard waste on a temporary basis while the Central Landfill remains closed.

The Central Landfill in Newark will not open today due to ongoing work by Choptank Electric crews. Personnel are currently clearing a downed tree and power lines on Central Site Lane. The landfill is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, February 25.

Residents are advised to use the available Homeowner Convenience Centers for waste disposal needs until normal operations resume at the Central Landfill.
