House Fire on Belle Aire Rd in East New Market

East New Market, MD - On November 24, 2025, at approximately 4:29 a.m., the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 5646 Belle Aire Road in Dorchester County, Maryland.

Fifty firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the one-story, single-family home. The fire, which originated in the laundry room, was brought under control in 15 minutes.

The occupant discovered the fire after the smoke alarm activated, allowing all five residents to escape without injury. The home was equipped with a fire alarm and sprinkler system, both of which activated during the incident.

The fire caused an estimated $50,000 in structural damage and $15,000 in damage to its contents.

The five displaced residents are now receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
