Incident at Egypt Road County Park Results in Charges of Malicious Destruction of Property and Littering

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department has charged an 18-year-old Linkwood, Maryland, resident in connection with an Malicious Destruction of Property (MDOP) and littering at Egypt Road County Park.
On June 29, 2025, Cambridge Police Department officers initiated an investigation into reports of property damage and littering at the park. A description, as well as photographs, of a blue GMC Sonoma believed to be involved in the incident were obtained.
The department subsequently shared this information on its social media platforms to request assistance from the community in identifying the vehicle and the individuals involved.
On July 2, 2025, Cambridge Police Department received leads from community members regarding the vehicle's identification. Through a detailed investigation, authorities were able to trace the vehicle to 18-year-old Riley James Aravanis of Linkwood, Maryland.
On July 5, 2025, at approximately 10:00 PM, Aravanis voluntarily met with Cambridge Police Department officers at their station. During this meeting, he admitted to being the individual involved in the incident and was issued Criminal Citations before being released.
Aravanis has been charged with the following offenses:
- Malicious Destruction of Property
- Littering
