INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY AFTER REPORTS OF GUNFIRE IN CAMBRIDGE, MARYLAND

Cambridge, MD - The Cambridge Police Department is currently investigating an alleged exchange of gunfire that occurred on June 6, 2025, at approximately 1:17 a.m.


Officers responded to the 800 block of Fairmount Avenue after receiving two alerts from the ShotSpotter system, which indicated gunfire in the area-three rounds in the first alert and one round in the second.


Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search for victims and evidence. They recovered spent shell casings at the scene; however, no injuries or property damage have been reported at this time.


A witness nearby stated that they heard gunfire and saw two individuals running toward Camelia Street, suggesting that the two may have been shooting at each other.


City camera footage corroborated the witness's account, showing two individuals on foot and two others on bicycles fleeing the scene.
