JAPREE AYERS WAS FOUND GUILTY OF MULTIPLE DRUG OFFENSES IN WICOMICO COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT

Salisbury, MD - On November 21, 2023, following a two-day jury trial, Japree Ayers, age 24, of Delmar, Maryland, was convicted of three (3) counts of Possession Large Amount of Controlled Dangerous Substance, three (3) counts of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Controlled Dangerous Substance, and related charges. 

The Honorable Matthew A. Maciarello, Associate Judge of the Circuit Court for Wicomico County, presided over the trial. Sentencing was postponed pending the completion of a Pre-Sentence Investigation. Ayres remains in custody pending sentencing.

On August 31, 2022, officers from the Salisbury City Police Department executed a search and seizure warrant at 613 Truitt Street, in Salisbury. At the time of the search warrant execution, a white Volvo was located parked behind the residence. 

A subsequent search of that vehicle resulted in the recovery of a large amount of heroin, a large amount of fentanyl, and a loaded handgun. 

Documents were located within the residence and vehicle which contained Japree Ayers name and telephone number.

Wicomico County State's Attorney (SA) Jamie L. Dykes specifically thanked the Salisbury City Police Department for their work in this investigation.
