National News - A statement was released today from the Personal Office of President Joe Biden. In that statement, it was noted the following:
"Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone. While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians."
Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men, but early detection can make a significant difference in treatment outcomes and survival rates. In its early stages, prostate cancer often shows no symptoms, making regular screenings essential for identifying the disease before it spreads.
Medical experts recommend that men, particularly those over 50 or with a family history of prostate cancer, speak with their doctor about getting tested. Early detection through simple blood tests or exams can lead to more effective treatment options and a better quality of life.
Don't wait-getting tested early could save your life.
