JUVENILE ARRESTED IN LAUREL, DELAWARE FOR TRESPASSING AND POSSESSION OF A FIREARM

Laurel, DE - On June 18, 2025, officers from the Laurel Police Department responded to a complaint of trespassing at the Hollybrook Apartments, located in the 500 block of Pasture Lane. The incident occurred at approximately 2:50 a.m.

Upon arrival, an officer discovered a male juvenile sitting on the steps of building 500. The officer, drawing from prior knowledge, determined that the juvenile was not a resident of the apartment complex.

Following the investigation, the decision was made to detain the juvenile. However, during the process, the juvenile attempted to flee but was unsuccessful. A struggle ensued as he resisted arrest. A second officer arrived to assist, and together they took the juvenile into custody.

A search conducted after the arrest revealed a loaded .22 caliber handgun and 3.5 grams of marijuana in the juvenile's possession. The juvenile was subsequently arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 07 and held at the Stevenson House Detention Center under a $21,000 cash bond.

The juvenile was charged with the following:

• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon A Firearm

• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon/Deadly Instrument/CCDW/CCDI

• Resisting Arrest with force or violence that intentionally prevents or attempts to prevent a Peace

• Officer from effecting an arrest

• Possess/Consume Marijuana Under 18

• Poss Purch Own or Control of a Deadly Weapon Persons Under 18
