Juveniles Intentionally Set Fire in Chestertown, MD Alley
Chestertown, MD - Three juvenile subjects intentionally set a fire on October 16, 2025, in an alley behind the 400 block of Calvert Street in Chestertown, Kent County, Maryland. The incident was reported at 1:20 P.M. after a neighbor called 911.
The fire involved miscellaneous personal property that had been placed next to a structure.
The Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company responded to the single-alarm fire with 10 firefighters. The blaze was brought under control within 13 minutes of the department's arrival.
Investigation by the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal determined the fire was incendiary in nature. The preliminary cause indicates that three juveniles intentionally ignited the personal property items. The Chestertown Police Department provided assistance during the investigation process.
The area of origin was identified as the miscellaneous personal contents located adjacent to the structure. Arrests are currently pending as the investigation continues.
