Kent County Sheriff’s Office Charges Man On Alcohol Related Driving Offenses
Kent County, MD - A traffic stop on Morgnec Road in Chestertown resulted in the arrest of a Queenstown man for driving under the influence and drug possession. Sgt. S. Lockerman initiated the stop after observing a traffic violation.
Upon contacting the driver, identified as 35-year-old Donte Lamonte Emory, Sgt. Lockerman noted signs of impairment. Emory was taken into custody after performing poorly on standardized field sobriety tests.
Following his arrest, Emory submitted to a chemical breath test that registered a blood alcohol concentration above 0.08. He was subsequently charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol per se, and other related traffic offenses.
During a routine search incident to the arrest, law enforcement located suspected controlled dangerous substances (CDS), excluding cannabis. As a result, Emory received an additional criminal citation for possession of CDS. He was released after being issued the respective citations.
