Salisbury, MD - Kevin Duffy, 43, of Salisbury, Maryland, was sentenced on June 26, 2025, in Wicomico County Circuit Court after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including firearm and drug trafficking, manufacturing cocaine, conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, and reckless endangerment.

Circuit Court Judge Karen M. Dean accepted the plea and sentenced Duffy to 55 years of incarceration, with all but 20 years suspended. The sentence includes a mandatory minimum of five years.

The charges were the result of an extensive investigation led by the Wicomico Narcotics Unit in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration. The investigation, which spanned several months, focused on large-scale distribution of controlled dangerous substances in Wicomico County.

Multiple arrests were made, and during the execution of a search warrant at Duffy's residence, authorities seized a significant amount of cocaine, a loaded firearm, and discovered two unattended children present in the home.

State's Attorney Jamie Dykes commented on the broader impact of cases like this, stating, "The illegal sale of controlled dangerous substances is not a victimless crime-it tears at the fabric of our community. Children raised in drug houses like Duffy's are often chronically neglected, exposed to danger, and left to carry the emotional and psychological scars for the rest of their lives. But the damage doesn't stop there. Drug trafficking fuels a cycle of violence that includes home invasions, robberies, assaults, and homicides. It endangers neighborhoods, strains law enforcement, and erodes the sense of safety every citizen deserves. We will continue to hold those who profit from this destruction accountable."

The investigation was a collaborative effort involving the Maryland State Police, the Fruitland Police Department, the Wicomico County Sheriff's Department, the Salisbury City Police Department, and law enforcement officers from surrounding counties. State's Attorney Dykes specifically acknowledged the contributions of Senior Assistant State's Attorney Patrizia J. Coletta, who prosecuted the case.
