Laurel Man Arrested Following Armed Altercation at Hollybrook Apartment Complex

LAUREL, DE - The Laurel Police Department arrested 25-year-old Tycere Bryant on charges of aggravated menacing and weapons violations after an incident at the Hollybrook Apartment Complex on August 28, 2025.


Police responded to the 100 block of Pasture Lane at approximately 12:20 p.m. following reports of a male subject displaying a firearm during an argument in the parking lot. Officers were informed that the suspect had left the area in a dark-colored SUV with unknown Delaware registration plates before their arrival.


Upon arrival, officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Investigators reviewed security camera footage from the Hollybrook Apartment Complex that captured the incident.


The video shows a gray Dodge Journey stopping as it exited the complex near Discount Land Road. The operator exited the vehicle and approached two individuals in the parking lot.


During the verbal altercation that followed, the operator produced what appeared to be a handgun and waved it in the air while yelling at the individuals. The suspect then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene.


Approximately one hour later, the Laurel Police Department received information that the suspect had returned to the Hollybrook Apartment Complex. Laurel Police Officers and Delaware State Police Troopers responded to the location and identified the suspect as Tycere Bryant. Officers took Bryant into custody without incident.


Bryant was transported to the Laurel Police Department and charged with the following offenses:


  • Aggravated Menacing (2 counts)
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon during the Commission of a Felony
  • Disorderly Conduct: Noise Offensive Utterance Gesture


Following arraignment by Justice of the Peace Court #2, Bryant was held at the Sussex County Correctional Institute on $14,500 secured bond.
