Laurel, DE - The Laurel Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating Jacob Beauchamp (26) of Salisbury, MD, in reference to a high-speed vehicle pursuit investigation.

On 11/6/23 at approximately 10:08 am, Laurel Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 1400 Grazing Court in the Hollybrook Apartments, in reference to a subject reporting they had located a stolen vehicle. As units were arriving on scene, the vehicle described by the caller was observed leaving the apartment complex on Discount Land Road.

The responding officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle as it turned onto Wilson Street. The vehicle failed to stop for officers and fled at a high rate of speed Northbound on Seaford Road, and eventually Westbound on Bethel Road.

The pursuit concluded when the vehicle left the roadway and became disabled in a farm field South of Bethel Road. Three occupants of the vehicle fled on foot into the woods, and officers located illegal drugs with related paraphernalia in the vehicle.

An area search was initiated by Laurel Police, Delaware State Police, Delaware Department of Natural Resources Police, and DSP Aviation. As a result, two of the occupants were subsequently taken into custody a short time later after being observed walking in the area away from the scene.

Beauchamp was identified as the driver of the vehicle, and it was determined that he did not have a valid driver's license, and was wanted by the Salisbury (MD) Police Department for Unlawful Taking of Motor Vehicle.

Any person that knows the whereabouts of the above subject, with information about this incident, or other criminal activity is asked to contact the Laurel Police Department at 302-875-2244 or by direct message to this page.
